A significant portion of Don Vogelsang's practice has involved representing insurance companies in coverage disputes under commercial liability policies arising out of environmental, asbestos, silicone implant, mold, chemical exposure, infected blood products, and other mass tort claims. He has been a lead trial lawyer in insurance coverage cases where the amount at stake was several hundred million to over a billion dollars and which involved dozens of parties, the production of hundreds of thousands of documents, and over 100 depositions.

Mr. Vogelsang, along with a team of Grippo & Elden lawyers, has represented a Fortune 500 franchisor as National Coordinating Counsel in relation to hundreds of cases nationwide alleging fraud, breach of contract, violation of franchise statutes, and often emotional distress and violations of Consumer Fraud Acts and RICO.

He has represented and advised clients in numerous matters raising libel and slander and fiduciary liability claims under ERISA.

Mr. Vogelsang has also tried arbitrations and has represented clients in mediations of over 100 cases with professional arbitration/mediation services such as JAMS.

After law school, Mr. Vogelsang clerked for Justice David Linn, Illinois Appellate Court, First District (1980-82). He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. He has also served in a pro bono, advisory capacity to parents of disabled children and parent groups concerning educational rights of children with disabilities.
