Irv Faber's experience includes first- and second-chairing multi-party insurance coverage matters, including insurance and reinsurance litigation, arbitrations, and ADR's. Substantively, the coverage disputes have included asbestos (e.g., so-called "non-products" issues and personal injury and property damage claims), breast implants and environmental cases. Issues litigated have included allocation (pro rata v. "all sums"), trigger-of-coverage, number of occurrences, applicable limits in multi-year policies and the pollution exclusion. In addition, Mr. Faber has been involved in a variety of other litigation matters, including general business litigation, preliminary injunctions, a securities class action and two successful anti-trust trials against the National Basketball Association. He has also argued appeals before the Illinois Appellate Court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to law school, he was a faculty member in the Department of Political Science at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, where he also served as assistant dean of the faculty and acting chairman of the department. At Cornell Law School, he served on the Law Review.
