Matt Bills' practice encompasses a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including disputes involving breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, enforcement of arbitration awards, insurance coverage, and defamation. Matt also has extensive experience with false claims/qui tam litigation, corporate internal investigations, and employment matters.

Among other matters, Matt has represented IBM in disputes involving complex software implementations (e.g., Bus. Sys. Eng'g, Inc. v. Int'l Bus. Machs. Corp., 547 F.3d 882 (7th Cir. 2008) (affirming summary judgment (reported at 520 F. Supp. 2d 1012 (N.D. Ill. 2007)) in favor of IBM)), hardware installations, and executive compensation; CNA in a claim for coverage under a crime/financial institutions bond and in numerous commercial general liability insurance coverage matters; a wind energy developer in a dispute over ownership of a wind energy farm; a private equity firm in a post-acquisition stock purchase agreement breach of representations and warranties action; and a large corporation in defending against negligence and intentional tort claims.

Matt is a member of the Seventh Circuit Electronic Discovery Pilot Program Committee.
